Tim , thanks for the comments. I wish I knew what I'd find at the end of the stairs, but they have been 'disabled', so we cannot reach the second or third floor. but there is some rubble out back, through the far door.

I'm envious of you getting to shoot this. I wonder, did it feel simply empty as these places sometimes do, or did you get a sense of wonderment at the history and people that passed through?
t-bone - good question! actually a bit of both. the eye keeps wandering, composing; while the mind keeps thinking of the troops who were 'in for repair', so to speak. there are other buildings that are not open to the public, but we keep hoping (also hoping that they do not 'restore' them.
