Heather and I ventured out to the old mining site that is now commonly referred to as 'Drac's Castle' for a little late afternoon session. I was looking for something dark and perhaps even primal in nature. I'd like to hear the thoughts of the community on these, not so much on the technical (although that's always useful and helps us to grow so go ahead) but please also let me know what YOU see in the character and mood of the image. Note the duotone blue processing is intended to reproduce a moonlit / night setting. And yes, in the second one, she really IS climbing the wall unsupported!
Thanks in advance to all willing to jump on the dancefloor...
To get the "dance started" I will add a few comments...
In general I think this was a "fun" session. Looks like fun. I like the general effect.
I like the toning.
Blue duotones are good for "day for night" images.
I prefer the #2 image. It is striking because of the pose and look. Effective for giving a sense or impression of a "wall climber creature" and "bat like."
So...my impression: Spooky.
Looks like a dweller of the dark. Seems ready to pounce. Looks sexy and dangerous. Seems like a woman with a "dark side."
What about image #1?
I also like the facial expression and toning and garment.
But...it looks her right leg is growing out of her shoulder (due to POV and pose) and I can't get past that. It looks "odd" and "funny." So that aspect dominates the shot to my eyes.
I hope these comments help you...and encourage you too.
Steady: The model in these photos asked me to pass on her appreciation for your comments. I shared them with her since they are actually quite accurate in describing her - not only in these images - but who she tends to be in life as well.
I love the Blue tone, creates a real feeling (for me).
Don't normally comment on the boards but I thought I would for these. The models stance/pose in Image one is amazing. I agree with Steady that the leg does look like it's coming from her shoulder but I think that's why I like it so much
The models "hunting" stance is spot on, sort of feline like, and the leg creates the feeling of ready to spring into action at any moment.
Nice feeling on these, and I agree with Steady about the leg. It's kind of an optical illusion really, caused by the line beginning under her right shoulder and seeming to end under her right thigh, with the strip of cloth intervening. Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy something new.

Glad she liked them. Just like I liked her in the image.
magyarangol: Thank you for your kind comments. The model does have some rather amazing abilities (and FLEX-Abilities!) and is always a treat to work with. I tried a couple of different POVs and found that the one posted above reflected the huntress best (in my mind) but here's a variation on that pose/POV combination that shows her leg much better, and gives an idea of the position she's in in the first shot.
Jeff: Thank you for your thoughts. I appreciate you taking time to look and reply. And yes, something new is always a good thing!
