Well done. Also interested in your technique. The bridge fades into the brighter light. Lots of potential with this technique.

I would love that on my office wall. That shot is incredible! The DOF is so deep, but then drifts off just right. Really intriguing use of exposure, thanks for sharing.

Glad this worked.
Original image was somewhat over-exposed to start, brighter at the NY end in the distance.
I worked to take the image further high-key, added as much detail with aggressive use of clarity and sharpening, and applied a complex tone curve. Image desaturated, then toned with sepia.

BTW, original is posted over at the Critique Forum if you want "to play", with some excellent variations posted there by Kaden and Bob Jarmin.

You state that you don't usually do this style. I'd say you got it right though! It's a good subject for it, as it probably wouldn't work on just anything. The endless bridge makes for an interesting study, however.

Interesting, eye-catching processing

For those interested in the processing, another comment.
The lighting in this brightened towards the distant shoreline. If it hadnt, a simple exposure gradient would replicate some of the effect.

I like a lot the tones, toning, details and perspective on the main (horizontal) structure. Your processing in the bottom half is interesting (everything becoming brighter towards the shore) but to me the vertical structure bearing the bridge should come to tonal values closer to those of the bridge platform.

T-bone 1, Lazlo, Santiago,
thanks for taking the time to view and comment.
Santiago,
I have tried to implement your suggestion in an un-posted rework. Thanks.
