On a cloudy day at the beach i was "testing" my 20D. I had it for a couple of months or so. I was forcing the ISO and this one came out like this. It reminded me of old photos! I loved it!
Nice. I like the yin and yang qualities of the light and darkness, and the black silhouettes in the foreground going to lighter gray as they receed into the distance.
There was not much to do to the picture. I picked the original, improved contrast, adjusted the levels to improve the dark areas and give a more "dark" touch to the photo and finally a bit of sharpening. That's all.
Well let's face it im no expert in PS so there is very little i can do. Even the contrast usually is Auto!
Interesting. I have been doing the same thing. I've been shooting my XT at ISO 800 in b&w mode. It's quite nice. I still shoot film, but the handy digital b&w is really cool.
