Thought this would be a cool idea. The people's forum has one of these but we're much cooler then they are. Theirs went something like 17 pages. Those of you who DO own a studio have NO excuse not to have a portrait up. Lets see em folks.
The rules:
1. Give us your first name. (nickname, middle name or FM name is fine as well)
2. List where about in the world you're from.
3. Something interesting about you that has NOTHING to do with photography. (other talent, instrument you play, favorite music genre, specific bread of dog or cat you own etc.)
4. Post a self portrait. ANY portrait. Old or new. Picture doesn't have to have been taken by you nor does it have to be studio shot.

Here are 2 photos of me....one from earlier in my career (maybe 1980) and one from a couple of years ago. My hair color has changed. Trying to make money as a photographer will do that to you.
Both of these photos were taken in Indiana, USA where I have lived on and off for a good part of my life.

Was an accomplished horse rider/ barrel racer in my earlier years, hence the horse pic. Was an activity that my mom and I shared, she's gone now and all of my money/time is now spent on camera equip. I don't have to go out and feed them or scoop poo when it's cold out (-:
so funny this thread started as just a couple days ago I went out with a good friend to get some pics of myself for promo use as I never have images taken of myself (like a lot of photographers I am sure)

2) Originally from East Centeral Indiana, moved to North Carolina's Crystal Coast (Central Coast/Southern Outer Banks) April 01, 1997... yep, April Fools day!
3) Taught SCUBA for appx. 16 years, certified Cave Diver, Trimix Diver and a pile of other techie/higher risk diving specialties. Play a little bit of guitar these days, used to play keyboards in bands in the... er umm... 70's! Coke not Pepsi.

I am Bryant Swanstrom and while I grew up in Houston, TX... I am now living in Santa Barbara, CA attending Brooks Institute... I shoot weddings and assist when I can. I played drums in a decently successful christian rock band before I moved to Santa Barbara. Now I just jam out on Guitar Hero with my roland electronic drum set... I also like to think I can race motorcycles, pavement seems to disagree with me on that.
If you look at this from about a 30 degree angle from the right of your screen, it will look like those 3-D sidewalk chalk drawings. Might have to close one eye. 30 degrees is kind of extreme for images on a monitor.
