I'd guess $800-$1000 range once the 5dm2 gains widespread adoption. I'd say a month or so before the flood (post Christmas sell-offs to pay for the new toys).

Thw "old" 5D is still a great camera....a "classic".
Half the time the cash back isn't even working (plenty of people have had enough problems to justify NOT banking on cash back).
If you're at a point in your life, where you need to charge/advance the money to get 100-200 back in 60-90 days, you shouldn't be making the purchase.
5D's are all over the place. Without some magic or cash back or coupon, they sell from 11-1600$ as far as I've seen.
If your work flow dictates you have to have the 5D, then buy it and have it make the difference up. I personally do not see the price going much lower than 1K$ at the years end. If they go lower, I will be surprised. There's NOTHING in the price range that competes with it.
I was second in line to a guy that wanted to trade his 5D for a 40D, even up. Since I just picked up a mint 40D for $650 I was all over that - but a day late.
I've seen lots of 5Ds out there, most in the 1300 range somplace. I expect that to drop some as 5D2s actually get in peoples hands, but the price will likely stay up for 6 weeks - demand for a used 5D by those that have been waiting for one 'cheap' and folks grabbing them for christmas.
Deals will be happening dec 20-25 for sure (too late to get it for xmas, shopping is over), and maybe the week after but lots of folks are home and on ebay the week after xmas so demand will be strong.
I'm happy with my 5D Mark 1 for now. If I am going to pay 3K for a camera, it better have pro AF, weather sealing, and 5+ FPS. I wanted a "3D", but now I am going to make do with my 5D and a 20D until the 1D Mark 4 arrives, and hopefully Canon will deliver what I want there. If not, well, hopefully Nikon comes out with a good fast wide angle prime like the 35L.
Can't understand why someone jazzed about the idea of owning a 5D would hold off indefinitely in the hope of paying a couple hundred dollars less. At what point do you pull the trigger and how do you decide? Wait another 18 months and 'save' even more.... Is there no value placed on owning and using the camera?

I paid $1650 for a lightly used one this past april, and am sure glad I didn't wait. The tens of thousands of pictures I have taken with it since then have more value to me than the hundreds I could have saved.
It wouldn't surprise me if the 5D supply will be pretty lean. Anyone whom needs a 5D II needs a backup and their existing 5D is about as good as it gets save another 5D II.

Agreed, if I would have gotten a Mark2, I certainly would have saved my 5D as a second camera.

Yes, for those who really need 5DII, they need a backup. The same is not necessarily true for who wants the 5DII. And I guess most the people have to sell their 5D to fund 5DII. The 5D supply isn't lean by any standard at this moment, and more will flood the market in the months to come. Just think how many 5D has been sold in last 3 years.
