p.1 #1 · 16-35 MkI vs Mk2 resale

Anybody would be kind enough to provide their insights as to whether there is a big difference between the two that would impact resale value?

Should a 2004 mk1 be close to a 2005 mk2 for eg. (i dont exactly remember when the transition happen but you get the point)

Thanks!

No, the mk1 should be cheaper. $900-$950 for a mk1 and a hundred or two more for hte mk2. I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong.

From what I've seen you're correct on the mk2 resale price - $1100 or so - but a bit high on the mk1. A lot of folks have been dumping these and I've seen several go in mid $800s. Whether this difference is justified by the improved performance of the mk2 is another question...

Mid $800s on the Mk I. I have even seen as low as $750 w/o box and soft case.

I believe I sold my mkI for $850 when I sold it about a year ago, if that helps. By now, I'd imagine the price range is anywhere between $750-$900 depending on how much of a stickler the seller wants to be
