Very nice Tim. Love your hawk. Were you close? My fav would be the teal. Great colors and reflection.
Way to go. Happy Thanksgiving.
Ted
Thanks Ted, yes I was close to the hawk. At the time of that shot about 20 meters but I did get up to 10 meters. I really wanted a good portrait but there just wasn't an open shot.

Howdy Mr Tim
Sorry not feeling the fog shot but I am all for them. To explain maybe I don't like the color cast(seems magenta) to me or the distant tree stumps crop adj? Maybe a tad of contrast or saturation??
I do think you exceeded your min focus distance on #2, too close not sharp to me.
RTH in the tangles is a nice natural shot, he looks very sharp
Last two 'floaters' look excellent as you normally have done with these guys
Please don't give up on the fog shots, I know you will find a very presentable way to PP them
Take care...........
Karl
Karl, 1 that was the color at the time. Sunrise, some clouds setting off color, blueish sky, fog, it all conspired to make an odd color. I too think it has some flatness feeling to it, I think that is the fog and longish shot. Thanks for the thought.
2 Funny you said that. I did one pass of sharpening and it looked TOO sharp so I backed it down. I should have left it maybe? It is also at 1/250, the bird might have breathed I'm also not sure of the comp.
Thanks buddy, I'll keep working on the fog.

Glad to see some folks are actually giving honest opinions....
Nothing against you, Tim, but I had set up a poll a couple months back based on my observations in the forums: If there is something really wrong with a picture, the author should be told about it...else he will continue making the same mistakes. I am sure there's a lot of experienced/talented photographers who can tell you what's working & what's not working in these pictures. But, 90% of the time I see "kudos, Attaboy!" That thing...is wrong !
Peace !

Lcollector, I have always been one to foster honest critiques, I take crap for it all the time. I want people to be honest and point out problems with my shots, I have made that quite plain over the past year. That is how I learn. That said not everybody is looking for that or wants to do that. I'm okay with attaboys if that is how a person wants to participate. This is an open forum without rules about comments. Some will critique some won't. There was a thread here just a week or so go ago addressing this issue. It was quite clear from the results of that post that people are split over this issue.
Always feel free to make constructive critiques of my pictures, I want that. I will do the same with your pictures.
