p.1 #1 · High Key for your critique...

After previous discussions about high-key, hot white, mid key..... I submit this one for CC. What, if any, would improve this shot (composition and PP)? Thanks in advance as always, with everyone's advice, I feel like my skills are improving, yet so far to go.

Hi,

First...I like the composition and you did leave some "headroom" for cropping later to other formats. That is good.

I also like the POV and the angle of the body.

I like the simplicity of the portrait.

It is a matter of taste, degree, and opinion.

For my taste, I don't care for the "dark eyes, white other" look so commonly seen after photoshop came around.

That is just an opinion.

And...some seem more "effective" than others. That is a judgment.

What struck me about this particular image is that the eyes just seem..."photoshopped." That is an observation/opinion.

You know...the common "paint the eyes back in" layer desaturation technique...etc.. That is a guess.

I will admit, this is not my style (or personal taste), so others will probably like it very much and be of more help to you.

I posted this in a friendly tone of voice to help you with a comment, since so many images receive so many looks, and so few comments of any kind.

it's very cute-my only critique would be to do a new b&w conversion and use less red channel-that should give you better tonal range

When did true high key mean to wash the image out? What happened to properly exposing and image?
