something that we have all noticed once in a while iam sure, and is important to ALL landscape photographers is the quality of light.
we always head out at the `best` times AM & PM, always reminded by magazines not to shoot during miday sun.
another thing I and probably many other photogs who look at other `leading` landcape photographers work wonder, is how do they get images so clear? large format we constantly hear against the ear drums. well yes. they certainly have there place iam sure, never actually using such a beast.
well, ive just been going through some more balloon pictures and as the sun had already risen about an hour before, we had seen the soft warm light we all adore.
now bere in mind compression for the file and sharpening has taken its toll, but hopefully you can see what `good seeing` is all about NZ style.
you may have noted or not how sharp and contrasty my pictures have been from there. the light or `clarity` as i call it. its superb and with this brings a great wealth of detail to the landscape.

dont under estimate `atmospherics` smog, haze and other general airbourne pollutants.
