This is the resident female Bald Eagle and it seems that they've decided to move back to their old nest from 2007. This one needs alot of work (storm damage during the off season) but they've been at it for about a week now bringing sticks back and arranging them.
And after she got done she moved to a branch close to the nest and posed for us for about 1-1 1/2 hours. All the while people walking under her, a work truck at one point and the three photographers clicking away. What a treat to have such a calm, wild Eagle do this for us...and the season is just starting.
You are lucky to have a co-operative eagle to observe. The stern look of the last shot is neat. This will be very enjoyable for you and I look forward to the oncoming shots you take to share

Thanks Karl. I just started following them this past March and missed out on the nest construction. They also had a rough year this year and hopefully the new/old location will prove to be a good move on their part. Alot of fingers are crossed for an uneventful season for 2009.
