This is a gorgeous image for all of the reasons already mentioned above, I love everything about it.

Have you considered how it would look if you matched the top half of the eye to the color of the bottom half? No nit at all, just a suggestion.

As I said, I love everything about it as presented. Excellent work.

Very nice detail you captured here Dave, I like the warm feeling and the detail in the neck feathers is very interesting, the see through nose hole is a bonus too..

Only critique I can give you is, the photo could use more cropped off the top, it feels a tad to centered to me.

Composition: being a portrait shot, with nothing competing with the subject it doesn't matter how you frame it the viewers' eye will go always to the subject's teeth... I mean eye
