I guess this would be the place to ask. How about some landscapes that include photos of the type of stuff we don't have here. Castles, moats, 500 year old buildings. etc.
This famous tomb (I had no idea what it actually was until Googling it just now to find out its age) is estimated to be 4,500 years old. It's in the Burren, in Ireland.
I think they are slightly oversharpened, but they did take a bit of work as the day was grey and miserable, plus they were taken with a Powershot A95 before i had my 40D.

Love the thread. Living in Florida, 'old' is a relative term, except here iin St. Augustine where they take their history pretty seriously. If I can figure out how to post pics (sorry for my digital dumbness), I'll try to put up one or two of Fort Matanzas, one of my favorite places to shoot.
I also enjoyed the scenes from Yorkshire and Holy Isle. Was there 20 plus years ago and still think the castle on the rock has to be one of the most photogenic buildings on the planet.

That shot of Eilean Donan Castle is FANTASTIC!!! Why can't we have that stuff here I could sit in some of those scenes for hours and think about all the events and scenes that transpired over all these centuries. Read a little Keats and Chaucer, listen to some Medieval ballads and and imagine all those poor B--tards who were burned at the stake or drawn and quartered at some of these locations (oops, omit that last part)

What a great thread! Everyone of of these images is beautiful.
Barry, your Castle Bolton in the Yorkshire Dales looks like the castle where James proposed to Helen (All Creatures Great and Small).
My husband and I just finished watching the whole series of that show, so the memory is somewhat fresh in my mind. But I'll be surprised if I'm actually right. Does anyone know?
