Heavy demand as it's the best Nikkor in this range optically (Doesn't have the 70-200's vignetting issues on FX) and it was only made for a few years so they're somewhat rare. They do show up on eBay and in stores though.
The right eye and right side of the face seem to be out of focus, r_o_b_s_o_n, ruining this shot. How did you focus? I read the other thread and agree with all the comments there. Keep shooting and posting.
thanks guys, yes... it would appear that I selected an image which was a bit out of focus.... I guess that's what happens when you're editing, and posting at 4 in the morning... doh! thanks for your feedback, and for looking.
As for the AF-S 80-200... I initially bought it to use with my D70, which wasn't know for it's autofocus performance, so the AF-S was important. Since moving to the D700 I have only been re-assured of the superior optical quality of the lens (even though I dropped the ball with this shot....)
I haven't see this lens on ebay at all either. Am I missing something?
