p.1 #1 · Grand Canyon

Where are your favorite sunset and sunrise shots? Going with the D700 this coming week. A storm is coming in. I'm going to be at the south rim right before it hits and right when it hits. I'm very excited for some dramatic skies. Though, that excitement is tempered by the fact that I could get completely screwed too.

I think there is a tram that goes out early in the mornings to the sunrise points and out late to the sunset points. I forgot which was which but if you ask someone there, they will tell you the best spots. YOu would be surprised how much the park rangers know in the info center.

south rim ? north rim ?

on the south rim I would think of desert view point for the sunset and any point as far as possible to the west for the sunrise... (I don't remember the exact point, but it was about an hour walk west to the railway station)

Oh, yes, critical point. South rim. I edited the original post to say that. Thanks.
