p.1 #1 · Mixing cards

When using my Canon 1d mk2 i usually shot raw to CF card and jpegs to SD card.
Seeing the jpeg files are so much smaller, does it mater about the card speed of the SD card, compared to the CF card.

What im thinking about getting is a Sandisk extreme IV CF card and a generic SD card.
Or would it be better getting a Sandisk III CF card and get a faster SD card?

Cheers
Allan

(IMO) The Sandisk Extreme IV is an overkill in that camera. It can't take advantage of that fast card. And it don't have UDMA support either. Only if you are planning to buy another faster body in the near future it's worth buying that card.
The Sandisk Extreme III / Ultra II CF and either the Sandisk Ultra II/ Extreme III SD cards are a better option for you.
