p.1 #1 · Online Sale Process

Hi
I have couple lens that I would like to sell them online.
I live in Canada and I think used market in here is too small to sell anything at a reasonable price. So I perfer to sell my lens to American, beside USD is expensive now

However, I never have any previous experience involving of online trading, such as paypal or ebay.

I am also interested of getting used lens from states, so is there anything that I should watch out, such as duty, scam, tax, and shippment?

thanks

sadly, there's not much you can do to get away from duty fees, unless you live in the states and quickly use DHL before they close down in the USA!

Living in the States,I have sold many items from B&S to my fellow Canadians. I have never had any lens or body incur a duty so far. I always use the USPS and am truthful about the contents and again have never had extra fees attached at your end of the sale. But PayPal does incur a "cross border" currency fee.
Good luck!

Being new to the board you'll need to provide enough information about yourself to make a buyer feel comfortable. As you establish a reputation on the board buying and selling will get easier. Be sure and check a buyers feedback just as buyers will want to do with you. When selling, give plenty of information about the item such as shutter actuations for cameras and date codes for lenses. Pictures of the item are always appreciated and will help with a quick sell. Be sure and check the boards for the going price of an item before deciding to buy or sell. Be forthright about an item. Your reputation is at stake and trust me you do not want to try and hide anything. Read through the Buy&Sell board and you'll see great listing and poor ones. When you see one you like use it as a guide. One more thing, fill in you profile with a little detail. It's one thing a buyer is going to look at. Good luck.
