From a few weeks ago during my Autumn visit to Perthshire in Scotland - only just getting round to processing some of the images from that trip. These are shot with an LF camera with Neopan Acros 100 film, and scanned on an Epson v750 flatbed. Feedback welcome. Thanks Paul
These are lovely studies. Especially the ferns, for composition and treatment of light and shade. Fine light and shapes too in the young rowan tree, maybe a little too much light leaks in at top right (unsure about whether darkening a little would be a good idea or not)?
But all of them are so beautifully seen, and attest to quiet attention to their subject, and fine composition. Lovely!

A fine series of photographs, particularly the last two. Do you think that it would have been possible to work with a larger aperture in "The Ferns of Aberfeldy" to get less detail in the BG and, perhaps, a more uniformely darker BG to contrast with the light fern tones ?

Hi Santiago and thanks for your comment. I think that because of the distances involved it would have been difficult to work at a larger aperture without losing sharpness on the fern itself. The small foreground fern is quite a bit closer to the camera than it appears, and to keep it in focus I had to stop down. Also, the main fern is quite bushy, extending backwards and forwards as well as sideways. I was aware at the time of shooting that the background wasn't going to be as soft as I would like, but at the end of the day something had to give. Maybe I'll try adding some blur and further darkening in pp. Thanks again. Paul
