thanks for the suggestion Steady, this was a candid with a 300/2.8, so i didn't have much flexibility... but in the future i'll definitely keep it in mind.
She has a rather pensive look that makes this an interesting shot. You have nice light in the darker eye, including a catchlight that makes it look good. I like the empty space on the right, but agree with the chin comment. Nice picture.
Yep, would love to see more chin. Since you were limited, I would have dropped the framing down so you had the chin and cut off more of the top of the hat.
My Simple Suggestion: In a similar moment with the lens restricting your field of view, then simply rotate the camera to a Portrait orientation to include the chin (and give up that empty space out to the side in the horizontal comp) or...step back about one meter.
I like it as is...shooting candid's with long glass you often don't have time/space to compose/frame as the "moment" will pass.
You nailed the look...great BG, anything else is gravy.
Steady, this was a very quick moment, so i didn't even think about changing to vertical orientation, and i don't think i would have gotten the shot if i had taken the time to step back... but those are definitely things to consider when i'm in a future situation like this. thanks for the advice.
