Nello, you have a very nice set!!! The eagle is without a doubt is the best image

#2 was a lucky encounter it's been a few days i've keepin' an eye on these chicks but they're always in the water and high banks gave a bad angle. I was about to go home but then decided to take a grand tour around the pond again persistance paid off!

Nello my friend, you are never at a loss to entertain us buddy
Heck that eagle is more like Condor size man you absolutely nailed the exp and PP on that one sir! Cute little peeper you got there, watchful Dad could benefit from a crop adj IMO, too cenered for me thought I like it as it represents your PP style, that means post processing Nello The Egyptian Vulture is darn cool buddy #5 looks soft guess that means you have soft ballz , you made me say it man! Undecided on
...Show more
Hey Karl..long time no see! where you've been brotha'?
Dude all this time and I had no idea what PP means thx Karl
Dad is kinda' centered...I guess I have a brain damage that blocks me from de-centering the subjects
#5 the soft ball well there's an explanation for that 1 I mounted the 1-400 IS w the 1.4 Tc attached on a tripod and MF (that's manual focus Karl ) in LiveView at x5 magnification I swear I could see the craters like never before but when I went to x10 view I also saw BIG heat waves rising up from the city making the image blurry they were uncosistent...in&off in a matter of seconds so I just took a few shots whenever they seem to be softer but still...you need to be up on a mountain or a desert to get a clearer view
For #6 I tried all kinds of PP techniques to get the whites back without makin the whole image darker. that's as good as I could
Thx for the nit maaaaaan

Nello, man did you nail the 1! That is a beauty. Now let all the other nice people here no how easy that was, geez I shot one in Vatican City with a 40!! Oh yes, I do remember you posting one a loooonngg time ago asking for an ID and I answered it for you.
Now where was I?
Oh yeah something about your pictures
2 is cute for sure but I think you cropped(read shot) it wrong. Move the ducky to the right and get some space in
...Show more
A hooded crow w a 40mm lens? dude those crows in Vatican got so used to tourists feeding them! Here they won't let you go near them within 15 feet or so...that's as close as I ever got and I see them daily! #1 is at 400mm and cropped about 20%. Guess I should start feeding them
Maaaan on #2 I shifted the subject towards left a little so it won't be too centered...you know I was gettin' "creative" that's about the only time I managed to do that
40d for IF is a killer I'll tell ya' !
yeah can't get that chick out of my mind either

Allright, let's try to be serious. Excellent variety, Nello. The good exposure in the first image brings all the good detail in that bird and the low angle helps isolate the bird. I'm glad to see that you finally decided not to center the subject in #2. Too bad you put it on the wrong side of the frame, tho It is a nice shot anyway, cute subject with fine detail. I like also # 4. Where did you find it, anyway? Nice feel in # 7.

Nello,

Wonderful series.! Every one of them is a winner. My favorites are 1,4 and 6.
But if I have to pick one,I'll pick #4. This Egyptian Vulture looks ellegant and
simply beautiful,as compared to western vultures. Man, what a difference.

Hey Nello,
What a great post for images and banter.
#1 is an excellent shot, very difficult to get the details in the black color.
Fine detail in #2 and some very pleasing tones.
I love the dead centre effect in #3 , conveys the sense that Dad is watching out for the youngster all right.
You had better reserve an extra seat on the train to Lucerne if you have to bring #5 with you or maybe a double if you have a pair
Cool Bifs too.
Cheers,
Martin

wrong side of the frame? hey well at least I gave it a try...next time i'll place it better That was kinda forced composition because on its right he had a little brother which I cropped out of the picture
#4 was a guest at a rehab center / wildlife sanctuary. They often receive injured birds, treat them and then release them back into the wild.

Sweet shots of all, Never seen bird 1 or 4 before, interesting. #7 looks suspiciously like our pigeon over here, a rare bird found mostly in city parks.

Nello, it's been a while since I've seen any of your images, but it's immediately apparent that your skills have skyrocketed. Really nice work here, fella And your eagle is especially nice - in fact, it couldn't be any better

Yes, #1 the hooded crow and #4 the vulture are only specific to Eurasia and north Africa. well, at least the winged rats look the same here and over the pond

You're right Maggie...I really sucked before I upgraded my gear from XT + 70-300 IS to a 40d + 100-400 IS L that's how my skills skyrocketed
Thx for the compliment...very sweet of ya'
