I have a 50mm f1.4, 35-70mm f3.4 and 21mm distagon. Can these be used on the a900 via conversion to m42 or anything else? I saw a topic discussing the possibility in Sept timeframe but no definitive answers.
I remember that someone on this forum has stated that it would be physically possible to adapt C/Y lenses to Sony. However, no adapters are available at the moment AFAIK.
search "leica 60mm" over in the Sony dslr forum on dpreview, and you should find a thread where a gentleman gives detailed instructions on converting cuz and leica lenses to Sony.

Please let us know what you end up converting and how the conversion goes. I'm sure you probably know, but the older Minolta manual focus lenses, particularly the often talked about MC Rokkor X 58mm 1.2 is very easy to convert to Sony/Minolta A mount. The screw holes in an existing A mount line up exactly with the older manual focus Minolta mount.
I actually bought the Nikon F to Sony for an A700 that I have...I will let you know what I think about it....when it comes in....I have a Sigma SD14 that I converted to Nikon F and it works perfectly....so these adapters probably do the same....let me know if anyone tries the Leica or M42..
Of course, the only problem with most adapters(not the M42 adapter though) is that they either do not allow infinity focus(Leica Adapter) or they contain an image degrading glass element. That's why you generally have to adapt the actual mount for Sony/Minolta A mount.

I will if I move forward on this project. I sold a 5D a couple of months ago because I had decided to keep only the Sigma DP1 and travel light for a while. But your and others enthusiasm is making me think of getting an A900 or the next model in the line up.
