Anyone can sit in the bleachers and shoot baby cows and cow kids. It takes a real man to brave the freezing cold and shoot Sandys out at the Wacky Monkey Observation Fork.
From a purly technical perspective these are right fine

Wow, thanks David! Rope landed on the back for a "no time" in the last sequence. Very happy with
the D300 AF on the few I shot. Was at the far end by the holding pen and saw parents starting to head
on over my way...got the hell outta there, quick!
Will, I have heard really great things about the Nikon D300 (as well as the FF D700), and have considered both at various times. I have also noticed a lot of people selling off their Canon 50D shortly after purchase; some of them openly confessing that they are moving over to the D300. Unfortunately, I have way too much invested (just bought a 600 f/4 IS) in Canon to start buying Nikkor glass. But these pictures sure make a good argument to consider it!

I hear that, Dave...and the long Nikon stuff will bend ya over. Thanks again.
Yup, pardner, HIF is not as easy to catch as one might think, but you got one.
Last spring I spent a couple of days at Rolex Kentucky, a major horse event, and captured four-feet-off-the-ground only a very few times.

Thanks Mark, that wasn't my intent of course....another unconscious bonus!
