Appreciate the humility Zoom but... I think some of these are pretty cool.
RTH is superb.
Great light and color in #3.
#4 has a really cool 3D look, excellent.
#7 is my fave and THE bomb.com sir, great eye contact and excellent under wing detail.
The rest, maybe not particularly special, but still good stuff man. Very nice work.

Does a 'nit' from witt count for anything
I am glad you said there was nothing particularly special here ZOOM, just makes me look harder for little things that make them special. Well, couldn't find a thing..................................................................................................................................JK Mr Phorum Policeman
#1 interesting drop shadow
#11 the headless flier
#12 perhaps like Dave's GBH trying to form letter of significance
#13 is wonderful #3 great isolation processing and color!
Karl
Karl, a nit from witt doesn't make you a nitwit so I suppose it does count
Sure glad you didn't find anything special in these as that would have been a great dissapointment for me I thought the same thing about 12 as you did but just couldn't think of a way to to make it sound witt-y like Dave does
9 and 13 are my favorites. The flight shot of the SHC is great! Nice and sharp and wonderful exposure. Could I suggest a slightly tighter crop to number 9 to get rid of the cut-off tree tops in the bottom of the frame? Maybe a little clone stamp to retain the original ratio?
Great shots nonetheless!
Ryan
Thanks Ryan, cropped per your request. I don't conform to standard image resolutions so maintaining the same aspect ratio does not concern me I thought about cropping that out during post but kind of liked the splash of Autumn color it provided. Seemed disembodied though and I agree it didn't belong there.
Zoom, the stork No. 3 is nice......good light, perfectly exposed, sharp bird and fine background (backyard ? )
The storks on #1 and on #14 might have blown up a bit on ya, but perhaps your monitor is differently calibrated than mine.

Great selection here Ken!!! That 500mm is killing me What an awesome lens it must be!!! I think out of all of these I like 13 the best!!! Nice work ZOOM!!!
HI Brenton,
The 500 is an awesome chunk of glass and I don't know how I survived so long without it. The chicks dig it too Glad you liked 13, I got lots of blue sky flier shots but few like this one with a good BG.

#7 is fantastic. #13 would be fantastic as well for me if the background birds weren't there or cloned out.
Thank you most kindly. You're probably right about the advantages of a clone job on 13 but I can handle little sticks on occassion but large burds in the BG are beyond my skills.
Wonderful series! And your 500mm seemed to pay off here. My favorites are
3,7 and 13. Did you take in-flight shots handheld?
Hide
Hide,
Glad you enjoyed them. Yes, I took all the flight shots on this trip hand held. While the 500 isn't nearly as easy to weild as the 400 5.6 a determined person can pull it off if they are willing to put up with a little pain in the process

Nice series Ken. Love the fall colors for the bg's. 13 is a stunner, congrats on that one. Nice shots of these guys doing what they do.
Tim
Thanks Tim, this particular set was all about the fall colors in the BGs but the focal length on the 500 really doesn't do them justice. SHC mostly just stand around. When they're not doing that they fly, eat and poop. I got lots of shots of them standing and flying and let the Monkey take the poop shots
