p.1 #1 · photos with IR converted 350D

I've been experimenting with HOYA R72 filters for a while with too much frustration so opted for an IR converted 350D from Ebay... I wish I did this before, for those using IR converted DSLR's already this is no shock to you but the ability to take IR photo's at the same shutter speed as a colour photo is a godsend for landscapes with moving foliage, anyway here's a few

Very nice shots! I have a 350D which will be replaced by a 5D in the near future. Seeing these types of photos may sway me to hold onto the 350 and convert it!

It's definatly worth it :-) , I didn't get the camera done through Lifepixel so I can't say if they do a perfect job but I gave you the link to have a look, there's not many places doing this that I know of and this is the site that I got the info from.

no more 10-30 sec exposures in broad daylight :-)

you have got the option to just have the IR blocker filter removed and a neutral filter put in it's place, that way you can still take colour photo's with it and use a lens mounted IR filter for IR, if your getting the 5D though personally I would go with the full convert to save messing with filters :-)

Well done. I like the IR comps. I have found that I can actually shoot a little faster with an IR converted than my typical DSLR.

If I said I don't see a Bunny but a Rat? I was just watching Ratatouille so maybe I'm biased? that said... VERY nice work especially the third. Makes me want to try and convert my old Rebel to play around.

it's defiantly worth it to convert :-) especially if it's a spare camera body so your main camera is for colour.

All four are very nice. I lean toward liking #1 the best for the sky. If you don't mind a suggestion a strong contrasting element in the left foreground of #1 would be helpful I think. Perhaps more of that structure or a tall dark tree trunk.

Thanks a lot for the comment, I see what you mean about the strong contrastinf foreground element, this would possibly balance out the image with the dark sky aswell.

I too like the 3rd image, a very peaceful scene with a surprising mix of greys and sepias.
