p.1 #1 · North Rim, Grand Canyon

Spent a few days on the North Rim last week. What a place that big ol' ditch is. Took in a few sunrises on the rim, and did the classic Tapeats/Deer Creek loop. I'll post a few images here, more are here, if interested.

Very nice series, Dan. They seem to keep getting better as I go down the list. While the first 2 are very dramatic, the processing looks a little 'over the top' to me. 5, 6, and 7 are really nice. Like the composition with the barrel cactus in 5.

Wow! Great job although the first 2 are a bit over done.

Thanks Dave. I'm on my laptop down here, so I appreciate the head's up on the processing. I'll revisit them with some more time and a better monitor.

#1 looks great .. I really like the processing here, just a tad over done, but it fits the picture and the landscape, #2 looks surreal, a bit too much over done in PP.... like the effect though, gives me a feeling of living in some unreal world... #7 looks fine, and natural. great series here.

On the contrary, I commend you on the processing of #1and 2. Simply sublime IMHO. I LOVE the deep tones in the shadows, the detail is exhilarating!! thank you for sharing.

Nice series. #'6 and 7 are my favorites. The colors seem a bit strange in #3, but I've never been there so I don't know if they are accurate or not.

Nicely done. The first two are overdone, but only because of they sky, imo. I think you've got a very interesting foreground in the first one. I'd play with the sky some, you've got some blown spots it looks like, and probably tone down the saturation of the yellows. Otherwise, great stuff.

Fine group of images. I have seen most of them decades ago when I worked summers for NPS. Well done.

Absolutely fantastic colors... superb timing on the first with the sun and colors. I really like the general composition of all these. Nicely done.

This is a great set of images. I really like #2 but the highlights are a little overxposed, it draws my attention towards the sky instead of the main subject. #3 is great too, I really like the composition and the perspective

Really fine set, Dan.
The 1st is easily my fave. The hazy depth into the bg is fantastic, and the highlighted spire is a magical touch!

Having only been to the south rim I have to say the north rim looks way more interesting to me.
