Hi all!
Just posting two quickies from Rannoch Moor a few days ago. I'm having big fun here in Scotland with Martin and Barry, producing tons of images!

Nice mood - I wish you were lower to the ground in #1 so that the rocks in the water were not fighting with the reflection of the hills in the background... don't need the edge of ground at the far right either. Would be stronger for me without.... #2 would be better (for me) if you had zoomed in to just the reflection of the hillside without the rocks - there is a rather big dead-space right in the center that is very bright that doesn't work for me.

Hope you don't mind me being critical - just calling them like I see them. Nice locations for sure - keep it up and shoot lower to the ground if you can (both shots would have worked better in doing so).

And I wished I had gotten rid of these rocks in the water

No sweat, John, I don't mind constructive critique. These are just two of very many I'll have to sort through back home.

Lovely images. In 2, would you consider a heavy crop of the sky to tighten the whole thing up? I envy your being there.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. The first is very nice.....not sure about the lower right hand corner though. The second is very small on my screen, but nice never the less.

Moody images, Carlo. Like the refletion in first one.

Not perfect (see above), but very evocative...I can hear bagpipes and see angry men in skirts and swords emerging from the fog. (And before the Scots in the audience gang all agley, despite my Spanish surname, I am Scots on both sides of the family!)

well seen Carlo. I really like the first shot. Perhaps some more single malt with the boys would warm the chill.

Hi Carlo,

I love the mood in the first shot, I think this would work well as a B&W as well, but like what realkuhl has said, separating the rocks from the reflections would improve it remarkably.. Although I suppose sometimes we are limited by perspective.. Unless you do carry a ladder around when shooting.

I'm not so sure about the second shot, the foreground arrangement is something that looks like it was thrown in as an afterthought.
