The trunk on the foreground anchors the scene very nicely, and the reflections are awesome!

Beautiful light and exposure Martin, looking forward to more. Glad you're enjoying yourself.

Ian

Thanks Ian. There will be more of our trip to the Highlands - from Carlo and Barry, as well as myself. I am having a good time, but over here on Vancouver Island at the moment - up at 3.00 am due to the time change; but looking forward to visiting some favourite places over here.

Beautiful capture. The reflection looks so good I wish I was there.

It's a fantastic place and I hope you get there sometime - just at the mouth of Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands and down to the bottom of the glen. We were lucky to have such exquisite light!

Hey Martin - great reflection, love the colors.

Thanks Vern. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for the comment - I have to say that it's not always like this at the bottom of what I always think of as the Golden Glen, but we were lucky with the clouds all afternoon after the morning grey had disappeared.

Superlative! Almost as good as a Lagavulin!

Thanks, Mark - we imbibed the Lagavulin, as well as several others!

Hello Martin, a very fine capture with great reflection (as others pointed out). Personally I'd like to see a shot without the log as well.

Hello Milan.

Thanks for the comment. I do have some without the post - as well as some with more jetty - but, as I've said, I like the interpolation of the post into the comp. It's all in the eye of the beholder, as they say! Glad you enjoyed it.

Martin: That's a wonderful image. Great capture, with fine processing on the laptop. Now that's the way to close a trip. I'm anxious to see more.

Bart

Not quite the closure of the trip, but only of the first day - the last bit of nice weather that we found that week, though! I'm pleased you enjoyed it.

Thanks, Eddie. Great to hear from you.

Beautiful image...
I really like the strength of the foreground element juxtaposed with the mirrored background.
nice work,
bruce

Thanks a lot Bruce. Just what I thought when I saw the great view and the remnant of the destroyed jetty. Glad the juxtaposition worked for you.

Great looking image Martin. Can't wait to see more and I'm envious of the single malt dinner! Do you have one without the post in the foreground?

Best,

Jose

I do, Jose, but I like the post! Glad you like the image and the single malt was great throughout the trip!

Cloudbow wrote:
Exquisite! The lighting is beautifully balanced. Great that we can see detail in the old jetty. It makes the shot. Of course that reflection is to die for, too. Nice work.

Bev

Thanks Bev. I'm delighted that you enjoyed (the inclusion of) the post!

Gorgeous reflection, Martin. This is just eye candy to me. You guys really must have been in all of your glory with views like this. I like how the combination of colours bless the water. You did
a superb job of maintain clarity and detail in the fg ruins post.

Wonderful work here, my friend.

Al B

Thanks Al.

We didn't have too much good weather, but this scene made up for the fog and rain on the other days! Glad you enjoyed the post, too!

Thanks Sharon. Glen Etive is a really beautiful place - one of my favourites; the whole glen, not just the loch.

Thanks Tim. It was Ardbeg that evening if I recall. I'm in sight of your Mt Baker now (but no yet on Rye!)
