That was a real treat to get to spend several hours on the moor and in the glen, with some beautiful light, and even some strange blue color in the sky!! And with the wind we most often experienced, the glassy reflections that day on the Loch were an extra special bonus.
Fine, fine image, my friend!
Hopefully, I'll get my computer issues squared away soon and get to work on my stuff!

Wow! Without even looking at the view the reflection of the sky is super. Add in the view, it goes for miles and miles...
Craig.
I was so obsessed with the reflection and the post that I did not notice how well the background depth had emerged! Thanks for pointing out those back mountains to me!

Great shot Martin, that incredible reflection dominates the images to the point that sky itself could be cropped a bit. Who needs the sky when you have such a beautiful mirror like image. Regardless, either way a splendid shot!
Thanks Zeph.
I hadn't seen the crop that you suggest here but I can see where you are coming from, and agree it would add a new dimension to the pic.

Hi Martin, awesome colours and clarity in this very enjoyable view! And although I agree with mooch about the post breaking the horizon, it along with the expansive scene and distant peaks peeking out through the valley all give this a marvelous sense of depth and 3d quality. You three be sure to have a drink on me!
Cheers,
David
Hey Dave.
Glad you like it - although as I said before I cannot agree about the post breaking the horizon, which is deliberate and an integrel part of the composition, just as it is. It's a great place to shoot and, as you can imagine, the proximity of the single malt at the hotel at the top of the glen is a great bonus - I've had several on you already!

Like that, Martin! And the conviviality sounds good too! Dave
Hi Dave.
Glad you enjoyed the pic. The trip was great fun, despite shennanigans with broken down car, roadside rescues et al....

Love the shot. Single Malt and patience rule the day. Stunning capture.
Thanks Tim.
A goodly philosophy methinks!

Super Martin! As I told Carlo, I'm so happy you guys are having a great time! This is a wonderful image, the colors the reflections, and then the way you broke up the harmony with the log is brilliant, super compo my friend.
Al
Hey Al,
Thanks for the supportive comments. I'm really glad you enjoyed it - including the jutting log! We did have a great time and, one of these days, you'll be with us
Exquisite! The lighting is beautifully balanced. Great that we can see detail in the old jetty. It makes the shot. Of course that reflection is to die for, too. Nice work.

santiago
Hey Santiago!
I'll join you in the quarter cask - the Bowmore is even better - and then there is always the cask-strength :o :o :o
Glad you enjoyed the shot, amigo, y es que tengo muchas ganas a regressar alli, contigo; a monstrarte mi pais!

Wonderful view and reflection, Martin. I have been exactly there but alas not with that weather. By the way, you have chosen a very nice angel.
Karl
Hi Karl.
The weather is very bad usually but we were incredibly lucky that the cloud and mist cleared for the afternoon, allowing an actual sunset in the Golden Glen. Hopefully next time you visit you will have the luck!

Hi Martin,
Glad you made it safe and sound, what wonderful light and fabulous scenery.
Jane
Thanks Jane.
We made it safe - but not sound - and, of course as always, the scenery was magnificent.

Hi Martin, nice capture. I have been to Glen Etive a couple of times but the light has always managed to deceive me with all the clouds and rain.
Mirza
Hi Mirza.
I've spent many an afternoon in the conditions you describe, deep in the glen. Persevere and the light will come!

I hope so too, Barry - the sooner the better. After all the gales we experienced, it was wonderful to see the smooth glass of Loch Etive that evening! As always the beauty of Glen Etive was balm for the soul!

Hey Martin,
Beautiful scenery, sparkling refelctions of the wonderful sky. What a teaser! Will be looking for more from this trip! Good stuff!
Randy
Hi Randy.
Far from the park; but we Scots still have some wonderful scenery and, if you notice, the colour of the Autumnal hills echos that of Lagavullin 16 year old!
Gorgeous reflection, Martin. This is just eye candy to me. You guys really must have been in all of your glory with views like this. I like how the combination of colours bless the water. You did
a superb job of maintain clarity and detail in the fg ruins post.
