It has been a week since I posted anything here. Instead of getting rusty, I figured that I should post something now. This is from my hike up the Narrows with my brother and sister-in-law. It was a very nice day.
#6 this is me and my sister-in-law. She's toting my 1-year-old neice too. My brother borrowed my camera to take this picture. The water was not running very high on this particular day. Everybody had a good time. http://gordonsmith.smugmug.com/photos/404249388_v547V-L.jpg
By the way, I didn't meet you on the top of Angel's Landing last November 9th did I? Met a Dr. from St. George and two of his buddies from medical school.
Very cool! I was keeping count of my favorites starting with #2, and every time I scrolled to the next shot, it was added to my list... So #1 is the only one I didn't like, for 2 reasons. The upper right corner of white sky, and second, the composition has the flow line of the water seeming to dead end against that back wall, rather then flowing through the shot.

But man, the rest of them... they rock!
Jim
Thanks for the notes on #1. The water flow was tough to angle in each shot as well as the light. Whenever a bit of direct light shown into the canyon, it just exceeded the DR of my equipment. Thanks again, Jim.

Thank you Craig,
I have not done Angel's landing for about 5 years, so I do not think that I was the one that you met last year. There are 4 Dr. Smiths in St. George Utah: One is a dermatologist, another is an orthopedic surgeon, another is a pediatrician (a female), and me (I'm a primary care doc-- Internal Medicine). I would bet that you met the orthopedic surgeon. The dermatologists are afraid of the sun. .
I hope to post my pictures from the white rim trail fairly soon for you and others. I happened to arrive in your neck of the woods on the night that there was that brush fire on the north side of town. The hotel we were going to stay and had to be evacuated!!! I think you must've been trying to scare me away. Maybe we'll meet up someday.

#5 ... just beautiful, contrast, shoadow detail and especially the light on the little rocks in water makes them stand out.. good series

Thanks Ashish. I like this one a lot, perhaps the most of the bunch.
I haven't been there for year. I like 2 and 5 the most, although 2 makes my mind spin a little, maybe a bit more sharpness in selected areas. Nice captures.
Cool series, Gordon. I especially like N°2 for the low and deep perspective, the quiet light and the fine color, and above all the way you rendered the flowing water, with very subtle detail up to the brighter areas where it foams.
