Canon Canada appears to have increased the price of the 5D from $2799 to $3099. I already put down $300 at the $2799 price. I am now trying to find out where I stand. If I have to pay another $300 I will cancel my order. I have bought a lot of expensive equipment from Canon and right now I do not have a good feeling about further dealing with them if this costs me more.

Not unlike the first price announced for the 1DMKIII. Canon saw the huge number of preorders and raised the price $500.

Wait a couple months after the release and the price will drop.

Yesterday buydig.com had the 50D body for $1199. $200 drop.
