Doubfull sound, second largest to dusky sound. this place is huge! our over night cruise was, well a little damp, infact WET. they dont measure rainfall here in `mm` its in `mtrs`. the record being .5mtr of rain in 24 hrs!
Fiordland Np is th largest in Nz at something like 39 million hectares mostly made up of sounds and mountains, then at the north end starts the southern alps, the back bone of southern NZ.
the cloud lifted on the last 1hr of our boat trip, enough time for a few shots. this one is full of atmosphere, very `Arthur conan doyle` in feel. fiordland has something special about it, peace, solitude and the such. to get here its a 40min boat journey, then 18km drive via coach. then your journey really starts.
A magnificent, moody BW. I think your signature should be either inside the image, or in the white matting. As it appears here, iit is (unfortunately) very distracting.
This one is a wicked shot. Love the way the clouds kinda envelope the mountains in the background. Sheese, .5 meters in 24 hours? That's a bunch more than we get in an entire year.

the image is not converted to B & W. this is still colour!
Nice photo btw Simon
I am off on another road trip later in November (with In-laws) - Got 2 nights in Te Anau to allow for a day in Milford Sound. Hopefully we get a bit better weather!
That is quite the place. The image is really great. Very moody indeed and good comp. I might want to dodge the left hillside to get some detail in there. .5m in 24hrs? 20"...that's just nuts
