A nice different take on Mono Lake. I like the lighting in this alot. My only thought would be with Mono Lake being just a backdrop here, that the foreground has to make the image, and it does to an extant with the wonderful lighting in it. But I think having some pattern in the brush, or maybe a central brush or two that really sticks out to grab the eye would be the finishing touch on this. And having shot in that same environment with similar shots, it's hard to really make order out of disorder, but I think that's what we need to look for with these types of shots.
Jim--I agree, although the larger, central bush does stand out much more in a large print and acts as a focal point. The original title was "Rabbitbrush", but I figured no one would look at it.
For me, it works really well. I adore the light and the way you created a natural vignetting along the bottom edge is excellent. It keeps my eyes nicely within the image. I would like to see this larger and nicely framed to open it up a bit more.
