p.1 #1 · Oregon Cascades drive

Mostly I was enjoying the scenery on a fine autumn day.
Also testing my first digital camera....a Canon P & S.
I'm having sizing problems with the post.
C and C welcomed.

good morning.

nothing drastically wrong with these as long as you like them.

things I would have done differently:

#1, crop to a portrait orientation with just the red tree

#2, ok, but too bad the car is involved. if the focus is on the brightly lit bush, zoom in tighter

#3, the trees on the left really don'd add to the image

what P&S did you buy?

rce,
Thanks for the input.
The camera is a Canon Powershot SX10 IS. Street price $400, so, for a P & S it has some intrinsic qualities, such as 8 MP. Also, with a 28-560 optical zoom (35mm equivalent) it will serve multiple purposes.
I fully understand what you say about the "Would have done differently" stuff. I actually did all those things while shooting. I posted these three because:
#1. I wanted the vehicle in the photograph to illustrate that it was a really big maple tree.
#2. The brightly lit bush was less important to me than depicting the surrounding forest. I actually waited for the car because I wanted this photograph to represent "road trip."
#3. I included the big-trunked tree on the left because the branches came from that tree. Including the other tree on the far left was a mistake that I simply didn't notice.
Thanks again for the feedback.
