I think it affects our spending. Well, I am looking for a 500mm lens various versions such as 500L F4.5 and Sigma 500 F4.5.. I think I can afford it. It is just that the economy isn't doing well at all and spending couple of grands on these big items seem a bit outrageous. I am just a hobbyist. I having been looking for a wide format printer as well and somehow I convince myself not to get one yet.
Even really well priced, well presented items by established members sometimes languish on this board unusually long these days. For example, there was that good 200 f/1.8 sitting unsold for almost 10 days or so....the asking price was $3.3k.... quite reasonable for that kinda lens.

You are partially right Mike. I have been watching for hours a day items priced at $400-$600 and have seen several with no hits at all and 1000 looks. And I am an expert here, between 2004-2007 I bought and sold hundreds of lenses and cameras. I don't mean to offend you, just that I know how this forum has worked and finally had to sell my gear to keep my sanity:-)) Two cameras in particular I have kept up with and neither has one bite in two weeks here.
The MS live is also very sceptical in my opinion. I purchased an 85 1.8 using it and lo and behold got an email stating that my cashback is now void as I returned the lens according to ebay.Like they even would know! Funny thing is the return and the purchase on ebay are "supposedly the same day" and even funnier is the lens is on my camera right now 50 days later love the lens so buyers beware!
I will never EVER use live again period in my opinion it is a scam!
