Congratulations , John . This is a magnificent tree , well worthy of the many versions we have seen on FM. Your version is enhanced by the avoidance / removal of elements of sky which can mar some of the compositions I've seen elsewhere .
Thank you all for the comments... Adrian, I took many different compostions, there are so many possible elements to include or exlude. I liked this the most and it's nice I'm not alone

Probably under 6 feet tall... you have to squat to get underneath the branches.... the gardens have added a bamboo fence so you can't get totally under the tree. The employees also walk around making sure your tripod legs are not touching any moss....
I have to agree - this has been an astounding Fall for colors in the PNW - the most colorful I can remember for at least twenty five years. The conditions have been nearly perfect for weeks, and the rain (and wind) will come not a day too soon to end it.
