Heading to Gatlinburg this weekend. Hopefully there's some color still around and I didn't miss the other end.
It's been a decade since I was there and this will be a trip with the family. Any locations you recommend? On my own, I'd make ten mile treks but a mile or two off the beaten path is probably my limit with kids.
If you have trail names, I can track down the maps though any links would be great.

LA_Sportsman, I'm sure you will have fun on your trip. There are plenty of trails and overlooks off of 441 that runs through the middle of the park. Alum Cave Bluffs trail is a nice one. Clingman's Dome and the Newfound Gap overlook are also nice places to see and shoot. The Little River trail is also very nice. Everyone loves to go to Cades Cove (it personally drives me insane because I prefer real hiking to merely driving around a loop in my car) and you may see some wildlife there as well. The trail to Abrams Falls off of the Cades Cove loop is also not a bad choice. Have fun!
I hiked Alum Cave Bluffs a decade ago and it was a potential on my list. I wanted to stay away from Cades Cove because of the likely heavy traffic. Alum Cave Bluffs is exactly the type hike I'm looking for because you have to deal with traffic to get there but once your a half mile off the road, you're mostly alone. It's also a decent hike to teach my kids the value and reward of hikes without wearing them out (6 & 9 yrs)
I'd read enough about Abrams Falls to have it on my list but wasn't sure about the stop and go around the loop at Cades Cove. I'm sure traffic has only gotten worse in the last decade.
Stream shots are my favorite to shoot And look at. Heres my input
1. Good composition, nice and low. The top middle yellow distracts me for a slit second due to the difference in brightness however the perfect saturation/contrast of the reds and greens keep my eyes away from the top and focused on the sides and bottom. Very sharp and no hotspots, very well exposed.
2. Composition and mood do it for me, but the fog middle frame is a bit much for me (just personal preference)
3. Like the composition and position of the sun. Exposure seems very realistic. Maybe a curves mask on the other side of the river ad I think the sun cut away at some of the pop. Also the first thing I noticed was that the scene seems a little cool. I dont get the feeling of those colors matching the scene, maybe just a slight drag of the WB slider to warm everything up juuuust a bit...
4. Everything for me is perfect, composition, exposure, contrast, color pop and are very vibrant. I like that I can see the origin of the stream and watch it continue right out of the frame. Only thing I can think of is a little more detail in the water (faster SS) HOWEVER I am more prone to long shutter speeds in beach scenes so I don't think twice about it here
5. Excellent color, excellent silhouette...composition works even better because the trees start out strong with an evergreen on the right and slope to just trunks.
6. Everything again to me is perfect, sun is in a great spot and burst is perfect. sky doesn't bother me one bit. only thing is that the rock bottom right should bother me but doesn't, great job.
7. & 8. Don't do it for me, 7 has perfect PP as usual for you I see however composition for both aren't for me. Also tings look a tad flat in 8, maybe try it as a high contrast BW too

I like the whole set very much composition wise. I find a little too much contrast in some of them with the shadows a little closed. That said, there's nothing wrong with that if that was the artistic intent! Great work.
