p.1 #1 · Natural Magic

Sunsets are difficult to forecast , particularly after several months of indifferent weather in this part of the world ! However , as an eternal optimist , and because a few clouds were gathering in the western sky , I ventured forth to a site near my home . A few bits of colour appeared in the sky , but things did not look very promising and I was about to call it a day when this scene materialised about 10 minutes after sunset. It lasted about 5 minutes , and I had to be quick to try and catch a little of its magic.

Hello, Adrian.

Wonderful sky-painting over your usual lovely English countryside. I like that you have enough detail in the foreground areas to give a great frame for the sky and yet have the interest of the lines of grass, trees and hedges that cross our undulating countryside.

Amazing upturn in the weather this week - although still cats and dogs in Glasgow, I hear!

Are you up for meeting up with us on the 2nd?

Really lovely image, Adrian.
We learned in the PNW sometimes the color doesn't make an appearance until well after the sun has gone, and this is a great reward for your patience.
Killer sky, and I also love the gorgeous soft light and classic English landscape in the fg.

See ya soon!

Barry

Simply gorgeous, Captain! It's good to see you still cranking out superlative tomes with your sturdy camera. Here's to the hope that you will finally have some fair skies for extended periods over the isle of Britain.

Many thanks Martin . I always enjoy your perceptive comments . Weather back to grey-glum again to-day , but I live in hope --- wherever that is ! I'm fine for 2 Nov meeting --- even if it's snowing .

Thank you Barry . You're quite right about the late appearance of sunset colour , but it always comes as something of a surprise to me when it arrives --- one of Mother Nature's better conjuring tricks .

Many thanks Larry . It's always good to hear from you ; weather here has improved somewhat , so perhaps we''ll get some good colour in a few weeks time .
