It seems that the best price currently available for the 50D (body only) is $1399 with no tax and free shipping. Has anyone seen a better deal from a reliable source?

You might try giving Roberts Imaging a call and ask them what's the best price they can give you.

Shortly after the 30D was released, I was able to get mine for about $150 less than anyone was advertising them for through Roberts.

I appreciate all the input. In the final analysis I decided to go with Amazon (will ship from Electronics Expo) and their $1399 price. Will ship on Tuesday, hopefully I'll have it by Friday.
