That is by far, without a doubt, the most awesome DIY setup I've seen to date. Consider getting an old tupperware container and glueing it in place of the original lid and then have another with the original lid. Would be interesting to use gels with this kinda setup

thanks guys I also put a single sheet of printer paper cut to fit the inside and also a peice to fit in the lid although with paper in the lid I was not to happy with the look of the light but still doing some testing and alot of learning with this new lens

John why do you say blocking

i would call it redirecting it

If I had a good idea as to what to buy for a flash bracket ( one that someone is using with good results also one that is able to be used with all three of my macro lens) I will buy it.
this is just so I can shhot with my mpe .......the cap end also has a peice of plain printer paper cut to fit the cap end
