Seem to be fixated on Carter Creek lately. Oh well, I'm gonna shoot it while it lasts. The damsel numbers seem to be dwindling. It also didn't help that the highway maintenance crews cut down most of the tall weeds on the creek bank, but it also seems to be a popular fishing hole with the locals. Witnessed a guy getting written up by the state wildlife agent the other day for taking under the slot limit fish. But, I digress...
Thanks Roy. I left you that note about autofocus? My Siggy does a good job most of the time by itself or with the Siggy 1.4x TC. When I strap tubes on it, all bets are off, it mostly hunts. But, I'm thinking that we need to leave room for me to either shoot with the TC or without when we make the camera mount hole. Don' think I wanna try to run extension with the ringlight. Maka de sense?
very cool. The detail of the wing in #2 is great, as is the angle on #4 and the crop in #6. Nice Bokeh too, Kenny. I don't blame you for going back to that same spot.
Thanks Tim. Uhh...actually #6 is not a crop, just moved in closer and recomposed. Now, #7 is a crop. There was some OOF foreground that ruined the shot for me. But we'll keep the cropping business amongst ourselves.
Damsels are tough to light -very reflective. Try setting your FEC to -1 (or more) and then bump the exposure in post if you need to. Look at the LCD and adjust the FEC until there is some space to the right of the histogram.
