Many thanks for taking the time to look and comment, Alan; I appreciate it. I should have mentioned that anyone can mess to their hearts delight.
The "concept" in my mind (alas, rarely translating to the print) was mailboxes that are largely nowhere. It struck me as somewhat incongruous. I feel the sky adds to the empty feeling a bit; I like space. I didn't quite hit my mark unfortunately. In my small defense, it does work a *little* better large.
But, you provide a different look and concept which is also quite interesting. I will have to work one up in the vein of your crop, since I think you may well be onto something. It is always interesting to take a completely different perspective, which is why showing is good; the photographer is often stuck in a rut; so much so, that I often see my own images in an entirely different light a few years after I last looked ... it is like seeing new and different images all over again, because you have lost your preconceptions.
