p.1 #1 · Lowepro Vertex vs Photo vs Nature

i want to buy lowepro bag, i am wondering which one to buy of the three models. the only big difference is that vertex have a place for the laptop but the rest dont, other than that i cant decide. also vertex seems less bulky than others for airplane trips. any comments on the difference between them?
thanks

Can't comment on the differences, you might want to check out their web site for that.

I do have a Photo Trekker Aw and LOVE IT !!!! It has served me well for 6 1/2 years now and is still going strong.

I agree their website is place to do comparisons. Also if you have access to a photography store that sells all of them, the best comparison is with the product in front of you. I did that and chose Vertex.

I have the Vertex 200 nd have been very impressed. I use the laptop section for my computer and carry two bodies plus several lenses.

It wold hold my 500mm if necessary.

The waist pad and closure system is very good. Never an issue with taking it on a plane.

wow scott, thats really long time. by the way i went to their website it wasnt that helpful.

steve, i am really leaning toward the 200 vertex, because of the laptop option and the right size (between 100 & 300), i dont usually use my laptop outdoor, but when travel i definitely going to take it with me and its nice to take my camera stuff and the laptop as carry on. but looking at Lowepro website i see a nice feature only in vertex 300 which is zippered back cover, they say it protect harness(which i dont know what it mean) during airline check-in. but as you know 300 is a bit big for international flight maybe.

the harness are the shoulder & waist straps. what it means is that there is a flap that comes up from the bottom that goes over the straps. this makes the harness straps disappear so the airport carousel doesn't eat them Makes for a tider setup but I'm not sure how many people acutally use it.

thanks howard, but i think its very cool feature not only for check in but also for carry on, because it will take all the bulkiness of the straps and it will really protect them during checking in, i saw how the throw them sometimes. and during carry on you dont want to hit everybody while moving to your seat with the straps, of course if you arent careful.
