not sure how this works but I ordered the Mac version upgrade but my CS3 is windows.
Your upgrade requires a serial number from the previous version to install. The serial numbers are platform specific, the cross platform upgrade you ordered will not install or activate.
You can call adobe and convert your CS3 Windows to CS3 for Mac. They have a process, and it's free. You basically surrender your CS3 Windows license and get a license for CS3 Mac. Then you can upgrade from CS3 Mac to CS4 Mac. I did the same thing moving from CS2 to CS3.
Just got off the phone with Adobe and unfortunately if I want the Mac version I have to surrender the Windows version becuase it was registered to windows so if you run 2 platforms you need to buy both versions.
The price for the CS4 upgrade (before and after) the discount is exactly the same as what I paid for the CS3 upgrade when it came out. Looks like adobe has an annuity going with us as the payors.
In addition to the codes (I used PIA06 a few weeks ago, you could use your NAPP membership code also to get 15% off) you can also use a cashback site to get an additional discount, such as fatwallet.com. I used it and it will give me an additional 6% off making the Design Premium Upgrade $479.39 or PS upgrade $159.79 once the cashback clears. Usually takes 60-90 days for it to clear, but it worked fine when I bought the CS3 upgrade and Lightroom 2 upgrade.
How about we stop giving the discount codes publicly?? Seems that Adobe is changing them rapidly, making it harder for those who actually shelled out the 100 bucks to get the correct code. Give it in a PM.
If you spent millions of dollars building software, might you spend a few minutes browsing to see if discounts were being abused?
Yah, I have spent the last 45 mins trying to get the code, and I paid for my membership.
well I ordered the full version from Adobe and was given the discount, even though I got it now I asked my wife to get me a NAPP membership for Christmas. I think it's well worth the $129(Can.)
NAPP members: Do NOT give out the NAPP discount codes. One of the benefits of being a member of NAPP is the discounts. If people give those codes out freely, we could lose that benefit.
SJMS it's guys like you who screwed it up for everybody.
If people want the discounts associated with being a member of Napp or other groups then sign up! I have made back my membership fees in free freight from B&H and my discount from Adobe. It is worth it. If you don't want to sign up then don't ask for discount codes!!!!
When you click on the Save BIG $$$ (first coupon mentioned on top of the page), it redirects you to the Adobe Store where you can buy the Photoshop CS4 Upgrade for $169.00.
Just bought the upgrade and saved $30. Now, if just the installation process could go faster, I'll be a happy camper.

I don't know anything about leaked codes nor am I a NAPP member, but I stumbled on this tonight searching Google for Adobe specials and coupons.

That does not look like the NAPP stuff, just regular Adobe promo offerings I believe.

I'm not sure if they are still offering it but Wacom had a pretty good deal with their tablets. I bought an Intuos 3 6x11 about three years back and it came with a link to an adobe website offering Photoshop CS (I did say three years back) for $299. Well guess what, the link still works and even better I was able to add CS4 to my cart for $299 and then go back in through the link posted above and get 15% off. So in the end I got the upgrade from Elements version for $254.15.
The only catch might be that the version of Elements that came with the tablet was 3.0 and Adobe only explicitly support 4.0 and up, so at worst I might be up for the cost of the Elements Upgrade (less 15%). - Update: Better choice, buy a Wacom Bamboo (something I can actually use) for $89 from Amazon and it comes with Elements 5.0.
And no, I'm not posting the link so don't bother asking or PM'ing me. Sorry but I don't want Adobe cancelling my order because some idiot posted the link to a public forum
Even without the link, if you're buying the full version of CS ... get the upgrade version and the Bamboo ... you save $10 and get a free tablet.

I'm not trying to get something I'm not entitled to, but I clicked through the coupon site and it showed the discount right up until I clicked to charge my credit card, whereupon it stripped out the discount and charged me full retail.
