Ant,
Way to go on the KF it looks nice with something around it besides dead tree branches, sadly that's all ours has to land on down at BC.
Great Job
Tim
Well I think that find on the Bittern is jaw-dropping, wait til Tim K sees that one That is a very cool find and excellent shot right in the habitat buddy. Gorgeous brown tones and nice work the focus in that tangle!
Hey, that BCNH is sporting a white beard, Santa?? is that you GBH shot is far from boring, great light and color Ant. If by chance you see an eagle, it will be proud to have a shot as good as that gull, nailed it!
#1,2 I have no idea what that nut-muncher is up to, I think he was flexing for you Wow, you did get a Kingfisher, cool and doesn't look like he was up a tree more in a low branched one. Just a thought on that one, would a darker BG look better, seems just a bit more open than I would expect, there's that 'nit'!
Dude, Karl is right, you got a bittern! From the yak? Man good job on him, they are not easy subjects. Oh yeah clone out all that sh&t around it, I want it wide open!! Great light on 6-9, 8 is wonderful. Nice gbh, not typical, not sick of them, got a million of them, like this one. Congrats on the KF! Those buggers are difficult. I have some close shots but it is perched on a boat! Nothing good in the wild for me yet. Nice job buddy.
Ant...
Congrats on the KF...just got my 1st too. Great detail on that one + the Herons! But my clear cut favorite has just got to be the California Bald Eagle. Had to go get windex for the monitor on that one. Could've sworn at 1st glance it was a sea gull!
I like the squirrel shots, Ant. They are very cool. The way I see the second shot, looks like s/he is about to raise its middle finger. . I believe s/he was just trying to help you and was going to show you a bird.
Congrats on your KF shot, and good job with the exposure in the IF shot.
Good job also with the Bittern picking your way through all that stuff around it.
Socrate
Hey Ant, I'm REALLY impressed with your Bittern shots, particularly when you had to focus through all those reeds. And just super lighting there. And congrats on the Mrs KF shot, I'm sure it will be the first of many especially as they seem to be spotted all over the California coast now. But the California Bald Eagle is my fave of the set, Ant. I think most folks take if for granted that anyone can get a good shot of it, but it's more difficult than you'd think. You got the light, shadows, color, details, and blue sky with fluffy clouds there. I think you're ready for Mono Lake where most of the California BEs are born
Nice shots Anthony and congrats on the KF. You know you need to do some PP work and put a liquor bottle in the hand of that squirell in #2 don't you?

Yea the KF was on a lower branch. I was in the yak and slowly slowly slowly gettin closer......... Another 45 seconds and I could have had full frame........... But even as slow as I was going the little B%st$%d still took off. I was only able to get off three frames before he vanished again!! Man I hate those guyz
Dark BG and Dark Blue color ... It might get lost in the BG......... Just my thought... I think a nice blurred green bg would be really nice

Yes matt some people often confuse the california bald eagle with a sea gull. It takes a keen eye for detail and an experienced birdographer to tell the difference LMAO
