Me too (just one for now). Couldn't find a grip for it for sale yet, but that hopefully will be fairly easy to find.
Now I need to figure out some other things:
1. How will my fairly new PC handle a 21MP raw file?
In 2000 I used to scan chromes and end up with a 125MB 16-bit file and my old Mac G4 duo twitched a bit but handled it just fine in PS 6 & 7. A 21MP RAW should be about 24MB, hardly a strain for a modern computer. Just load up on RAM so it doesn't hit the scratch disk too much and it will be fine.
I figured the kits would be in less demand and if I wasn't satisfied with the 24-105L I could sell it over in the Buy and Sell forum. I hope I'm near the top of the secret list!
I'm #1 at my local dealer. Of course I ordered it 3 months ago. I told him I didn't need to know the model # or the price, just put me on the list for the new 5D. They had to start the list that day, so I'm parked at numero uno. I could double order it, but I'd feel guilty if Amazon or B&H called me first and (of course I'd have to buy that one) and then he called me (and of course I'd have to buy that one too).
Cold day in hell before I'd preorder a camera. I'll let you beta testers pay through the nose for the Xmas rush and report back on any issues. I'm waiting until PMA, by which time 5D II will be freely available, probably a bit cheaper, software will fully support it from third party (imagine having to use DPP - ugh) and firmware will have been released.

I pre-ordered 1 on the 17th from a local shop but haven't asked where I am in line. It is finally time to retire the utterly reliable 300d and see what 16mm really looks like.
I've pre-ordered with 24-105, but only got $210 off my purchase ... so I'm looking for a better deal. I'm hoping to find a discount about double this before I take delivery. I'm not concern about where I am in line and I am not in a rush.
I don't agree with Pixel Perfect's tone below, but I think he has a good point about paying too much for the camera and software support.

I agree about software support, it is an important issue for me. Hopefully, Adobe's quick support of the 50D will be indicative of it's planned 5DmkII support.
No insult, sure someone has to buy the cameras first or we'd never get anywhere, but I've never bought a new camera in the first 6 months. It's just the way I work, I'm a late adopter. I haven't even bought a LCD or plasma TV as they aren't up to my expectations yet and what are we in 8th gen models?
I'm sure the 5D II won't have issues like the 1D III, but I still think it's prudent to not rush in, and my old cameras will last another 5-6 months.

Where'd you get a discount that size?!
I think that's a great strategy, as long as you don't need it right away- but you never know what the demand structure will be like, I mean... there must be a ton of people ordering after waiting for this cam for years.... Pixel Perfect wrote:
