I'm still waiting for my copy but I've spotted a new link with fresh 50D images, shot with a production unit.

Did j00 find something in this samples you can't do with a cellphone camera!?

(any lower?)

(this is, a rethorical question.. The people addicted to new gear may be annoying, those religiously defending older gear are by far worse though).

It's not about defending older gear. It's about do you _really_ need new gear.

Most brilliant statement. Should be a banner above the Adorama ad!

Define "need". That is the hard and crushing starting point of the debate you seem to want to start. I won't hijack this thread any further, so if you want, you can start a new thread or send me a msg. I'm actually very interested in what you think "needs" means in this context

Seriously, I saw some OK high ISO shots, but what is wrong with even 20D-40D to do same? G7 might be not as good example in this case.

I have a 30d and I have published magazine sized images at iso 1600, I have also seen olympus om1-shots that print well to 20x30 inches.. It is just a moot point

The only thing you NEED is food, water and shelter. So with your logic, you shouldnt own any camera gear.

Any macro photos of sour grapes taken with your 40D or a G7?

That is the point, I don't. You refuse to define "need".

Absolutely. Print them at native 16" wide without any uprezzing.

Yep. You can't shoot 15 megapixel images with the 40D.

Love the entertainment of folks who hang out on a gear forum, but who pose as being above coveting new gear. Very bogus, but a very funny side of human nature!

Need? No ... don't _need_ what I have now but _enjoy_ playing with the latest gear and can afford to use it a couple thousand frames then sell it. Yes, I am on the list for both a 50D and a 5DMKII.

I am printing 20x30 inch from 10mpx mk III superbly, not sure what else should I see on this picture with higher mpx? Also modern photography world is computer/lcd but not paper printed images. In 10-20 years nobody will use paper pictures, that would be LCD screens already for sale in small sizes.
