As you may know I am a horse person and as such and photographically I like the horse picture. It is very, very good. Great light! Most non-horsey people don't know to catch the ears forward as you did.
My only critique are the four rails in the left background. I would clone them out. Other than that, great blokah.

Thanks Ron - Perhaps I should post a few horse pictures and fix the bars you mentioned. I posted this because it breaks a few rules (a bit centred horizontally and close to frame at ears and mouth) but still works because the late day light allowed the eyelids and whiskers show up and he was really interested in what I was doing with the camera. Thanks for the feedback. Scott
I've been on this river and your photos do it justice and as you can see the scenery is majestic. You may have sharpened the photos but in my experience the light in these locations sometimes plays tricks and you can get some beautiful effects. Well done, brings back memories!
Gosh, Scott, I wish I had such scenery to photograph every day. And then to have horses to shoot when you're just waiting around, that's icing on the cake! I love his whiskers and the interest he's showing.
Testing to see if 1 is improved - I fixed the sky a bit and resharpened. Scott
You also changed the crop a bit. I like the repost better.
You all are definitely teaching me something. I didn't even notice the lighter sky/halos around the trees when I first looked at the shots.
Thanks Isusmdo and Sherri - your feedback is appreciated.

- the halo in 1 comes from having my hdr turned up too high and a cp on a wide angle - I have not decided what to do with the combination (hdr without CP or hdr with CP and more processing or just turn down the hdr. Maybe I will post 3 for others to play with on a slower day.
- scenery is great in the summer to fall but soon the days will be 9 to 4 and cool and then you might have a different perspective
