p.1 #1 · CF card reccomendation for new 5D MKII?

I've already decided to jump on the boat (pre-ordered 5D MKII).

Although I currently use some 2GB and 4GB Sandisk Extreme III compact flash cards.
I have the feeling these will not do well for my new camera when it arrives.

Sure I can put pictures on those cards, but as I only shoot RAW the 21MP raw files will be large. As I do some photojournalism work and work for a few magazines as well I also want to explore the new video possibilities of this camera.

So that means I need a fair amount of storage capacity. I also believe the cards should support UDMA for fast writing.

The question is, what brand of CF cards would you reccomend me and how much GB CF cards would you use for this type of camera? What do you use in your 1DS MKIII?

I would recommend the Sandisk Extreme IV, and since the prices are reasonable these days, 16GB although you would probably manage with the 8GB.

Actually I just checked and the 16GB is still way overpriced - you can pick up 3x8GBs for the price of a 16GB!

I wouldn't use more than 8 meg anyway, far too much to lose in one go if the card goes wrong.

I'm perfectly happy with Sandisk Ultra 2's, but then I'm not remotely bothered about card speeds.

I just bought two SanDisk Ultra II 8 GB cards, and I was pleased to find that they're about 30% faster on a 1DII than my 4 GB Ultra II's.
