Hi guys I have a friend who broke its old canon 300/4L NON IS and need help and I try here even if we are located in Italy.
Sorry in advance for my english, I hope to be able to explain the problem:
The problem was born from the fact that the hood was always moving since He bought second hand some years ago. I do not know if this is linked to the problem that occured.
Now the front element lens has broken. Well it was broken the srew in system to which the lens is attached.
Unfortunately I have not the possibility to post a picture because the lens is now in a canon service, where, after they said it was an easy repair, now they say it is not possible to do due to lack of spare parts...
BUT: the front element is not the same of the IS version? I hoped so.
I know there are some istructions manuals of the lens around with the spare parts named... Do you have as link?
Do you think there's an easier way to fix the problem?
He tried to glue the lens but the glue's vapour now are on the lens!!!  YES I already told him he is stupid....
