p.1 #1 · Florida Lens rental?

I was invited to the nov shuttle launch, and wanted to bring a better lens than I have. my long lenses are 70-210: and 35-300L along with a bigma, but i was hoping for something with a little better reach. 400-500 L would be nice. i can possibly rent where I live but transporting is the tough part. If I can rent and return down there, that would be preferred.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Try here http://www.rentglass.com/faq.aspx

According to the FAQ they now offer pick-up, they are in Kissimmee, just minutes from the airport.

I've rented from them with no problems.

Neither of the places they list have any really expensive primes. They have the 400 5.6 and the 300 4 IS, but not the high-end primes like the 500 f4 or the 300 2.8.

In that case use http://www.ppratlanta.com/.
You will not find the 500 F4 any cheaper because they all pretty much ask the same price. What your looking for now is a top notch renter.
ppratlanta is a very professional outfit.
You better reserve it as far out ahead as you dare ASAP becaue it's a popular rental item.

All of the online rental houses will ship to a FedEx Kinko's to hold for pickup in Orlando. Its done everyday. The larger ones all have 400-500-600 primes and unlike PPR the rental starts when you pick it up, not when they ship it:

Try lensrentals.com. They are based out of Memphis. They are good to deal with.
